Terms of Use

These conditions govern use of Allegany County Criminal History. Accessing a page, reading its material, or submitting a search means that you accept them. If you disagree with any condition, do not continue using the site.

NO FCRA USE. Allegany County Criminal History is privately operated and has no government affiliation. It is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency. Neither this site nor its advertising partners offers a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site, independent from Allegany County and New York government. We neither store official criminal records nor retrieve records, perform official checks, or submit documents for visitors.

Our content identifies custodians such as the Allegany County sheriff, criminal courts, New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, and New York State Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect visitors to third-party research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

As a condition of access, you will not:

  • Use the site in violation of federal, New York, or local law
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass a person with information found here
  • Apply site content to hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or account
  • Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools
  • Interfere with site performance or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from this site or a linked tool may not be used to intimidate, stalk, harass, threaten, or unlawfully discriminate against anyone. New York Correction Law Article 6-C permits public-safety use of Sex Offender Registry information, not vigilantism or a crime directed at a registrant or household. Misuse can lead to criminal or civil consequences.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create credit reports, consumer reports, or official background checks. Data from this site or a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Make an employment decision
  • Evaluate a rental or housing application
  • Set insurance terms or judge creditworthiness
  • Determine eligibility for a permit, license, or public benefit
  • Carry out another purpose governed by the FCRA

Use an authorized, FCRA-compliant provider when a regulated consumer report is legally required.

5. No Legal Advice

General explanations about Allegany County records are not legal advice. Only a licensed New York attorney can advise how a charge, conviction, warrant, or record-sealing rule applies to a specific matter.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are provided "as is." We make no promise that:

  • A partner result will be complete, current, or correctly matched
  • Every page is free from bugs, errors, or security flaws
  • Information is accurate, complete, and current at all times
  • The site will remain available without interruption

Charges, dispositions, custody status, and New York sealing rules can change a record. No statement here is an official declaration from a court, sheriff, DCJS, or other government body.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to government offices, court portals, legal-aid groups, or outside search services. We do not control an external site's content, availability, price, or data practices and are not responsible for them. Review that provider's terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, code, logos, and graphics belong to Allegany County Criminal History or its content partners. Written permission is required to copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from protected material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from use of this site, its content, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless against a claim, action, or demand caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

New York law governs these terms, including applicable consumer protections such as General Business Law §349. A dispute tied to site use must be brought in a court located in New York.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A revision takes effect when the updated text is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may suspend or end access at any time and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected term will be narrowed only as much as necessary.
